Happy Monday – 10/10

img_0940

  1. Joe and I have 90% of the parts for our costumes ordered/on their way! Minus a bag for me, and a blazer for him. Hmm, what are we going to be!? Any guesses? (No guessing if you already know.)
  2. I have most of my Christmas shopping done. #HumbleBrag. Here’s hoping I am able to keep track of it between now and Christmas – only 11 weeks to go!
  3. A soon-to-be-blogged-about subscription box offered me a pretty awesome discount to try out their subscription box and write up a review…and I’m super excited about it. You should be too! 🙂
  4. The majority of Disney’s Halloween DCOMs are on the Disney Channel Apple TV app! We’ve already started working our way through them, but are keeping the Halloweentown trilogy for closer to the end of the month. (Yes, trilogy. Only the original Marnie counts.)
  5. And lastly, because I feel like we all need something totally unrelated to all of the election shenanigans: Pete Campbell from Mad Men is the new Colonel Sanders. I know. I’m just as confused as you.

Sorry this is a somewhat disjointed post – I think the lack of free time is starting to get to me!

Product Rave: Papermate Inkjoy Gel Pens

Alright, so full disclosure – these Papermate Inkjoy Gel pens would have never been on my radar had I not been given one at work (the company I work for owns Papermate.) That said, as someone who loves to write everything from to-do lists to penpal letters, I’m so glad I was introduced to the Inkjoy Gel pens. They’ve quickly become some of my favorites – yes, including the Japanese pens from Mochi Things.

I currently have 6 of the 14 total colors that these pens come in…which means my work notes, penpal letters, to-do lists, and planner will be quite colorful for the foreseeable future – sorry not sorry. The ink also dries very quickly, which is the biggest difference between these pens and any other gel pen on the market – thinking of you, lefties of the world! Heck, I smudge inks from regular ballpoint pens and I’m right-handed, so the lack of smudging is a godsend for me as well! (Plus if that doesn’t convince you they’re worth checking out… these pens just look so much nicer than their predecessors.)

FullSizeRender 25

The pens come in a medium (.7mm, what I currently have) and fine (.5mm) point – and even though I LOVE fine pointed pens, the medium point feels perfectly good to me 😀 Ahh. I’m pretty sure that Joe, my friends, and Snapchat followers think I’m ridiculous for how much I’ve been raving about these pens, but I really am as excited about them as it sounds. Can I give 3 thumbs up? Because I totally would.

Have you used these pens yet? Let me know what you think!

Review: OZ Naturals Ocean Mineral Cleanser

Disclaimer:  OZ Naturals sent me this product, with no compensation other than the product to test and review. The following post consists of my honest thoughts & opinions!

oz naturals face cleanser

I’m usually not too picky about face wash – we buy whatever is cheap at Target, and as long as it keeps my face clean and acne-free, I’m a happy camper! Face wash is one of the only things in our shower that Joe and I currently share…we’re working our ways through particularly feminine and masculine smelling bottles of body wash right now. There are too many bottles of things in our shower. Mostly my fault (I need 3 shampoo options, right?)

oz naturals face cleanser

Anyway, last week OZ Naturals sent me their Ocean Mineral face cleanser to review, and I’m already loving it! My face doesn’t feel like it’s crying out for moisturizer after I shower, and the smell kind of reminds me of being at the spa…which let’s be real, is exactly how I’d like to wake up in the morning. I also really appreciate that the cleanser is all natural and not tested on animals, which I know is important to a lot of people!

The ingredients in the cleanser are all restorative and natural: Rose Hip Oil is a natural acne and eczema treatment, with anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties that help decrease environmental damage and soothe the skin. Aloe Vera has anti-bacterial properties, which help to heal, soothe, and moisturize. MSM is a skin softener that is derived from healthy super food vegetables, and CocoBetaine is a solution derived from Coconut Oil that improves the foamy-ness of the cleanser, making it feel smoother on your skin.

Pros:

Vegan and not tested on animals.

All natural ingredients that you can Google to read about their benefits to your skin! (That’s what I did.)

Makes your shower smell like a spa!

Cons:

It comes out of the bottle way too fast, I feel like I’m wasting a lot whenever I use it 🙁

I typically prefer a cleanser with an exfoliant – I feel like I’m getting my face cleaner than using just a foam, even when I know that’s not the case.

Review: Honeywell Console Humidifier

Disclaimer: I was sent this product from Influenster, with no compensation other than the product to test and review. The following post consists of my honest thoughts & opinions about the product!

Unfortunately with the winter weather comes dry….well, everything. Dry skin, dry hair, dry air…etc (though admittedly, this has been one of the milder Decembers in recent memory) and even though our basement has a dehumidifier that’s constantly running, we’ve been waking up feeling extra dry in general. Luckily a few weeks ago, the Honeywell Console Humidifier appeared on our doorstep!

IMG_5102

Although the humidifier is kind of bulky, it was beyond easy to set up, and is relatively quiet (on the low setting) which is super important to me – I like to avoid extraneous noises if at all possible! I’m relatively scatterbrained/forgetful when it comes to things that aren’t in my usual day to day routine, aka refilling a humidifier, so the fact that this one turns itself off when it runs out of water is a maaaajor plus. (Though thanks to the 2 large refillable tanks, we haven’t run into that issue quite yet!)

More information from Honeywell:

  • 2 easy ways to fill – at the humidifier or carry to the sink to fill, removable top fill design
  • Evaporative humidification technology
  • Easy to Use – Optimized for high moisture output
  • Easy to Clean – wide tank opening & large surfaces
  • Adjustable humidistat automatically turns humidifier on and off to maintain set humidity levels
  • Three speed settings to adjust moisture output and sound level
  • ‘Humidity Reached’ and ‘Tank Empty’ indicator lights
  • Wicking filter removes impurities from water reducing white dust and providing clean moisture output
  • Designed for extra large or multi-rooms
  • Runs up to 24 hours per filling on low setting
  • 2 water tanks; 3 gallon total capacity
  • 3 year limited warranty

Sooo, if you’re sick of creating a small lightning bolt between noses with your significant other when kissing goodbye (no? just us?) and therefore have been in the market for a humidifier, this one is definitely a winner if you have a place to put it!
